THE KOREAN FRIENDSHIP BELL

Hi everyone!  Just a quick explanation, I deleted all my previous posts from the last two years due to wanting a fresh start.  After reading through them all again, I felt I was not consistent with my updates and wanted a fresh start.  There have been a lot of negativity going on that I just believe it will be better if I start viewing and recording positive memories.

I was in San Pedro, California on Tuesday, June 25th, 2013 and stopped by the Korean Friendship Bell.  My friend Der and I went down there for our mini getaway vacation from our stressful everyday life from June 25-30th, 2013.  We landed in Los Angeles (LAX) airport and made our way down to Laguna Beach the day we arrived.  In between our drive down south, we stopped by several places and one of the more amazing sites we visited was of course, the Korean Friendship Bell.  I actually did not do my research and just went along with whatever my friend wanted to do and see.  I just wanted to escape reality for a week so whatever she had planned, I was okay with.  While driving up and down the steep roads of San Pedro, I didn't have much on my mind or any expectations at all, but as we (she drove while I sat) pulled up into the parking lot of this place, our (mine) mouth dropped at how amazing the scenery was!  It felt almost like we were at the top of the world, LITERALLY.  There was a basketball court located off to the side overlooking the Pacific Ocean and it's breath taking view.

Besides us, there were very few visitors there.  It really is an amazing spot and I am grateful we decided to stop by and breathe in the sunshine and air (very windy).  I believe we spent about an hour there taking pictures and walking around the area just admiring the view because we do not have such an amazing view back home (Minnesota).

Below are some photos that we snapped during our short time stopping by San Pedro.  It is absolutely beautiful and I highly recommend anyone who has not been there yet-- to remember to stop by if you are in the area.

The small detailing artwork of the roof is astonishing.  Such beautiful colors and designs give it an extra boost of traditional belonging of the Korean culture along with the history of this bell that symbolizes friendship.

And until next time,
